Shlomo MANSBACH c. 1860-c.1930
Lewis or Louis MANZBACH 1892-1935
An important thing to remember about the family of Louis MANZBACH is that it was domiciled in Moszczenica, Poland a mile from the Turza residence of the family of the widowed Rosa Wachs MANSBACH/Emil MANSBACH family and a few miles from Rezieppenik and Gorlice, homes of many generations of the family of Jacob the Scribe MANSBACH. I believe the Emil MANSBACH and Shlomo MANSBACH families were likely closely related and descendants of Jacob the Scribe.

Louis or Lewis MANSBACH was born in 1892 in Moszczenica, Poland. He arrived in the U.S. on December 13, 1891 on the Lapland at Ellis Island. He was married when he was 30 years old to Minnie and lived in Newark, New Jersey for many years. He had a number of jobs, including a stint as a "restaurant keeper" and apparently owned a tavern at 406 Broadway in Newark around 1937. His children were Florence, Elaine (or Eva) and Sabra. He passed away in 1935 at age 43.
Shlomo Mansbach was born around 1865. He was living in Moszczenica, Poland near Gorlice and Turza in 1892, when his son Leibesh MANSBACH (known as Louis or Lewis MANSBACH in the United States), was born. It is likely that Shlomo was a son of Isaac Joseph MANSBACH, and a grandson of Jacob the Scribe MANSBACH. It would be interesting to know whether Shlomo's full name was Shlomo Peretz, a name held by many other MANSBACHs.
