Shlomo MANSBACH c. 1865-1930

Shlomo Ha Levy MANSBACH was born around 1865.  He was living in Moszczenica,  Poland near Gorlice and Turza in 1892,   when his son Leibesh (known as Louis or Lewis MANZBACH in the United States),  was born.   It is likely that Shlomo [in English, "Solomon"] was the son of Isaac Joseph MANSBACH,  described as "lost track of" in the 1985 hand drawn family tree below:

Lewis or LOUIS MANZBACH c. 1892-1935

Louis or Lewis (Hebrew name Leibish) MANSBACH was born in 1891 in Moszczenica, Poland. He arrived in the U.S. in 1921 on the Lapland at Ellis Island.  He was married when he was 30 years old to Minnie and lived in Newark,  New Jersey for many years.   He had a number of jobs, including a stint as a "restaurant keeper" and apparently owned a tavern at 406 Broadway in Newark around 1937.  His children were Florence, Elaine (or Eva) and Sabra. He passed away in 1935 at age 43.

An important thing to remember about the family of Louis MANZBACH is that it was domiciled in Moszczenica, Poland a mile from the Turza residence of the family of the widowed Rosa Wachs MANSBACH/Emil MANSBACH family and a few miles from Rezieppenik and Gorlice,  homes of many generations of the family of Jacob the Scribe MANSBACH.   I believe the Emil MANSBACH and Shlomo MANSBACH families were likely closely related and descendants of Jacob the Scribe.
